Description Walking Tour Rome

The Vatican is a very popular tourist destination, attracting more than 8 million visitors each year. This tour will allow you to access the places of greatest interest without waiting, together with an expert guide. No waiting, neither in the queue for everyone nor in the one with normal priority entrance. Together with our expert guide, you will be able to discover and admire the works of art kept in the Vatican Museums. You will meet the most famous artists who have characterized the different eras and the stories that gave life to their works. You will see the Pigna fountain and visit the Gallery of Geographical Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries and the Gallery of Candelabra. You will continue your visit in the magnificent Sistine Chapel where you will hear the incredible stories that lie behind its creation, such as that of Michelangelo’s self-portrait, from which his idea of preferring a painful fate such as being “skinned alive” rather than having to work again on the fresco of the chapel itself emerges forcefully. The majesty of the structure in which you will find yourself immersed will make you understand and feel up close how difficult and tiring it can be to complete such a grandiose, meticulous and cared for work in every detail. After this visit that will leave you breathless, you can continue your visit to St. Peter’s Basilica by accessing it directly from the Sistine Chapel thanks to a door that connects the two sacred places. Here you can admire the incredible altar and you can be enchanted by the wonderful sculpture of Michelangelo’s Pietà. At the end of this tour you will exit directly into St. Peter’s Square, where you can admire Bernini’s clever optical illusion, the balcony from which the Pope looks out and take some photos of the Basilica from the outside.
