It is said that by throwing a coin into the water, you promise to return to Rome. But there are also other legends related to its waters. We’ll continue our journey through time until we arrive at Piazza di Pietra, where you’ll see the remains of Hadrian’s temple. This temple was built by Antoninus Pius in 145 AD in honor of the emperor Hadrian, who was deified after his death. Leaving the remains of this temple, we will head to another great temple, still perfectly intact today: the Pantheon. This temple was dedicated to all the gods past, present and future and, after the advent of Christianity, which saw the destruction of all pagan temples, this building managed to survive thanks to its majesty and beauty and was then transformed into a Christian basilica. From here we will reach the nearby Piazza Navona, where you can admire Bernini’s famous Fountain of the Four Rivers up close, which triumphantly marks the elaborate center. Here our tour will end.
