Description Bike Tour Rome

The Via Appia Antica is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Rome. An exciting experience to be lived thanks to our expert guides who will lead you to discover the Queen of all roads, a symbol of the magnificence of Ancient Rome and, even today, a living memory of the past. Created to connect Rome to the south of the region, in less than a century it reached Brindisi, an important port in southeastern Italy and a meeting point between the Roman and Greek worlds.
It was thanks to the opening of the Appian Way that the theater spread to Rome and that Rome opened up to the world.
Today the Appian Way is an archaeological park of extreme value, one of the largest open-air museums in existence, immersed in a park of 17 square kilometers that extends to the borders of the modern city, under the volcanic lakes of the Alban Hills.
The tour starts from the Colosseum and then reaches the remains of the most beautiful thermal baths of antiquity and the most famous gate of the imperial walls.
From there begins a truly exciting experience: pedaling on the original pavement to discover a unique place in the world.
You will find yourself immersed in an extraordinary mix of nature and culture where the remains of towers and Mausoleums overlook the Caffarella Park, an almost uncontaminated strip of territory where, even today, the remains of the Roman aqueduct are clearly visible.
The route is not difficult and has a difference in height of just 60 meters, has some dirt sections and some passages are a bit adventurous. For this reason, it is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
For those less accustomed to pedaling, but who do not want to give up the charm of cycling, it is possible to rent a latest generation E-Bike that will make the route less demanding.
The tour is available in a Private version and with the possibility of visiting the Catacombs, the Villa dei Quintili or the Museum of the Walls.
To book, simply send an email to tour@bicibaci.com, you will be contacted by our staff who will organize the service according to your needs.
